Re: River Bet Freezes Me
Yes. KJ is dominated a huge amount of the time by an UTG raise. What hands do you think are opened UTG that KJ is ahead of? No pocket pairs, no aces. Only weaker K's & Q's. You are behind going to the flop A LOT.

Re: River Bet Freezes Me
I'm not talking about being ahead or behind here. I'll admit that I'm behind a good number of hands preflop. But doesn't being dominated usually refer to being up against a hand with a common card/better kicker such as KQ, AK, AJ?

Re: River Bet Freezes Me
KJ is dominated by a number of opening hands in that sense as well.

Really??? I don't have the experience that KJ is dominated too often. [/ QUOTE ] It's a math thing, not an experience thing. [ QUOTE ] When it is I think I can usually figure it out pretty easily. [/ QUOTE ] So when you figure it out what do you do, call down with the second best hand or fold top pair? /mc |

Re: River Bet Freezes Me
For the record, it's not "that sense".. that's the only definition of dominated. TT and lower doesn't dominate KJ. A call/3-bet would be fine if you KNEW it was one of those hands, but the possibility of AK, KQ, AJ, etc offsets that. Fold.

Re: River Bet Freezes Me
I want to be open to the feedback I'm getting, but doesn't the fact that he's 50/20 factor into my decision when considering this whole "domination/ahead/behind" issue?

Re: River Bet Freezes Me
An overall 20 PFR isn't a particularly wide range. Here's a reasonable range from UTG+1 (UTG 5 handed)
equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 57.6240 % 54.78% 02.84% { 44+, A7s+, K9s+, QTs+, JTs, A8o+, KTo+, QJo } Hand 2: 42.3760 % 39.53% 02.84% { KJo } |
