AJ is a close spot. I probably push. This actually really depends on exactly where I am at. UG vs, UG+2 makes a big difference here, as does the number of players at the table.

AJ from UG with 11xBB is about as ambiguous situation as you can get in terms of push or fold poker. I lean towards a push, just b/c we lose 1.5xBB in 2 hands anyway, and there is still a long way to the real money

how many people are at the table in #2? that is a big part of it.
limping is the last thing i'm doing. when under 30x there is no time you should limp.

it really depends on the table and # of players to determine if i'd make it 2,400 or not. with no antes no way i push.

The problem with most lines, is a 3xBB raise is giving you almost 2-1 on a call if someone pushed.

8 players in #1, 10 players in #2.

i'm willing to make the decision at the time. if the guy is tight, i'll muck it. if he is loose, i'll call.
they have to think i have a hand, so makes it all the more likely i am behind if they push.

i muck #2, unless it is an incredibly tight table.
pushing you are risking 9K to win 1,200. the risk-reward just isn't there.

I say #1 is an easy push. Tough break that it played out the way it did.

#2 is tougher. I lean towards pushing but that's because when my stack drifts into 10-15BB I lower my standards for being first to enter the pot. I suppose in theory I could raise to say 2000-2500 but that makes the rest of the hand somewhat difficult if you get a call, unless you decide to push the flop regardless.

Of course, if you get a call, you're probably behind anyway, but you do have a reasonable hand. I take the chance-- whether or not you do, I suppose, depends on how willing you are to wait for a better spot and how likely it is you think you'll see one soon.
