Default Re: Bluffing out a big pair?

[ QUOTE ]
ok, villain is same opponent as in the "Turned a set of queens but dont know if like it" thread.

He is a very reasonable player, capable of making big folds and he only reraises preflop with strong hands.

My hand range on this guy after the the preflop reraise is JJ->AA and AK.
After the flop bet I am about 80% sure he doesn't have a king, cause I know he likes to slowplay big hands. Who likes this?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Once he calls the turn, I'm checking behind on the river and moving on. This player seems too good to f&ck around with from the 2 hands you've posted. I'd practice my table selection skills and get away from him. There are many other players whose stacks you can take without these sorts of acrobatics.

my thought was raising the amount I did is a much better way of representing a big hand then a bigger raise, since it would look like I didnt want to blow him out of the pot.

I don't really consider $20 that big of a raise, it's not even pot sized. Rasing 10 more to 15 just looks kinda weak and prices in flush draws too. I wouldn't be making that raise with many of my made hands either.

He folded to the river bet, I think my post flop play on this one is rather good to be honest, but my preflop call was retarded, would have been much better of calling with something that couldn't be dominated.
