Re: blind war with stoxtrader
Really? Check the river? That seems crazy to me to let a guy totally off the hook just becasue he check raises a lot. He has shown no strength at all and we already checked the turn, thus he could call the river with a lot of stuff since we could have anything. I think checking both the turn and river is very not good. If the turn goes bet/call, then I don't mind the river check.

Is reraising the river too LAG?. [/ QUOTE ] IMO, yes. There is only a small range that calls here that you beat, and you aren't folding out any better hands. |

Re: blind war with stoxtrader
[ QUOTE ]
6 handed online. Stoxtrader raises in the sb, I 3 bet AT, he calls. For those that don't play with stox, he's very aggro, moreso than most top players. Bigggg check/raiser. Flop AQ6r he check calls. Turn Q he checks, I check. River 2 He checks, I bet, he check/raises and I call. Standard? Sometimes I bet the turn, sometimes I don't. Stox and I play enough together I have to mix it up. I like checking here sometimes as I think I get an extra bet from some hands that would have folded and save 2 bets when he has a queen. Then again I'm giving him a free shot at a broadway if he has jt/kj/kt. What do you guys think? [/ QUOTE ] As agro as he is, a turn c/r would make me puke as he's the kind to bluff that scary whore on the turn. I want 1 bet to go in on every street. If none go in on the turn but 2 do on the river, fine. Folding the river would be a disaster IMO. |

Re: blind war with stoxtrader
A thought I just had...maybe I want to bet the turn...because he's going to c/r with a decent amount of hands and I'm beating most of them so...maybe I don't really need to puke as badly if he c/r me. I still think i like my line, though.

Re: blind war with stoxtrader
I guess it makes a difference...albeit not a huge one. It happened days before I posted it and I had pulled it from memory cause I was still thinking about it.

Re: blind war with stoxtrader
but adds the possibilty that Stox has a 4 here which easily could have played the hand the way he did (or perhaps more importantly could make stox think you might think he has a 4 when he c/r the river). But obviously that was not a factor in your thinking since you didnt remember it.

I think this is fine, but you should always strive for optimum frequency. If he's a Bigggg check/raiser as you state, then be more inclinded to bet and induce a check/raise. You have little reason to fear a queen at this stage in the hand. |
