blind war with stoxtrader

6 handed online.

Stoxtrader raises in the sb, I 3 bet AT, he calls.

For those that don't play with stox, he's very aggro, moreso than most top players. Bigggg check/raiser.

Flop AQ6r he check calls.

Turn Q

he checks, I check.

River 2

He checks, I bet, he check/raises and I call.

Standard?

Sometimes I bet the turn, sometimes I don't. Stox and I play enough together I have to mix it up. I like checking here sometimes as I think I get an extra bet from some hands that would have folded and save 2 bets when he has a queen. Then again I'm giving him a free shot at a broadway if he has jt/kj/kt. What do you guys think?

I think the turn play is fine, but the river is very tricky. With your bet, you obviously put him on a weaker A or possible a medium pocket pair (the only hands that will call your bet). The question then becomes whether your read is accurate. So, how does Stox play those hands in this situation? Many players will bet those hands on the river given the action, so against at least some players a check behind might be the right play (as weak as that seems). Against Stox, though, who might c/r with a weaker A than yours or maybe even that med. PP, a bet (and call the c/r) may be the way to go. I think it's close.

Seems okay, as a turn check-raise would fall right about into the vomit nexus. I do think you need to call the check-raise on the end; he knows you don't have a queen and is sort of quasi-freerolling against another ace that might or might not have him outkicked.

Is reraising the river too LAG?.

I would bet turn. If he has a stronger A (doubtful) or a Q, you'll hear about it - but still have to pay off. I think you are giving up too much value to check turn and give him a free card or a cheaper showdown. River checkraise is a MUST call IMO.

when i read this hand i'd expect a c'r on the flop. when he c'rs on the river id say he has an A or a Q. he may have a smaller pair and hopes that you'll fold a bigger one, but i dont think he expects you to fold to that raise very often with anything resemblind a hand. since there's no draws, its not like he wants to fold out a higher card hand.

so like i said, its an A or a Q and you beat many aces but no queens...lucky for you there are many more As that you beat than there are ways for him to have a Q unless he really raises your blind light. (our first blind war he had J4o though...)

I might consider checking this river specifically against stoxtrader.
