Take a nice long break and forget about the bad beats. Come back playing fresh and with a better attitude twords the game. I like to play video games (Halo 2) more when I am in a bad steak. It helps take my mind off poker and is very relaxing.

Other - I find it rare that I take bad beats on multiple sites at the same time. So I just play somewhere else for the rest of the day, this seems to help.

[/ QUOTE ] Sounds a little superstitious to me... kind of like lucky seats, etc. I could see doing it for a change of pace though. During my first significant downswing at $3/$6, I got the hell out of my basement and took my laptop to my parents' home overlooking a lake. From there, I kept on losing, but it didn't seem as prolonged for some reason. |

Take a brake from it for a bit. Go for walks, Read Theory of poker again or Hold'em for advanced players again. Take a vacation or something along those lines. Relax for a bit
You'll be amazed at what just taking a brake can do for your game. |

Rather it was a true downswing or just bad play I'm not sure, but I just came off a 200 BB down. I reexamined my game preflop, tightened up a bit and played more "by the book." In the past week or 2 playing 2 tables about 1 hour a day I've recovered all but 6 BB of the downswing.

I put other because it depends on how long and how bad the streak is. For a while I don't change a thing. As the downturn drags on, I might take a night off, study a bit more, analyze some really bad sessions. I don't drop down a level to ride out a bad streak, but I have had to drop down due to a bad streak damaging my bankroll.

I don't change my underwear until I start making A-high flushes again and I sacrifice a goat.

If I'm playing the same, I plug through.
If I'm tilting, I take a break. |

I don't change anything. Although that is not quite right. If I catch myself thinking in most of the terms stated above, I might quit for the day and come back when I am thinking more clearly. But, not because I am losing, but because the losing is starting to make me irrational.
