Re: any opinions on this 20+2 AA hand? 15/30
raise more preeeeeflop
80-100hood people LOVE to call preflop, but nevertheless you want to try to get this pot brewin early. you also want this to be a headsup pot for the most part. say you raise to 50 utg, and 2 or 3 people call with trash, i could possibly complete here with 99 or a low pair and look to stack you if i flop a set. if you raise to 100 though, there is no way i'm investing that much preflop to try to flop a set- especially since there WON'T be 3 callers before me. |

Re: any opinions on this 20+2 AA hand? 15/30
I've heard alot about raising more pre flop, wouldnt you only get called a small percentage of the time?? I normally make the T50 raise and players call and do exactly what happened to you on this hand I call and win when they show me A-J, even K-j, T-j. My answer is CALL quickly... most of the time your ahead.

ok i just wanted to check... sometimes when you're getting slapped in the face i guess it's good that there are people to confirm your choices...
obviously i called... and obviously i lost... low set... what can yah do... only thing there doesn't seem to be agreement on... and what i think about a bit... is the preflop raise amount... so some people think 3x is good... some people say more... i'm still not sure bout what to do there.... i mean... seems really really stupid to bet 100 first in when blinds are 10/15... but obviously a raise to 50 doesn't keep fish from calling either... shrug... |

At this level players arent really thinking oh thats 5x the bb, theyre thinking oh thats only 75 of my 800 chips it wont hurt to see a flop. |

Re: any opinions on this 20+2 AA hand? 15/30
I would raise from 40-60 here (usually 45-50). I would never make it 75-100. You can make so much from them when they just flop top pair, that it really doesn't hurt to have a few callers. They will give you all their chips with top pair a lot more often than they will take all your money with a set. |
