Villian in hand 1 had QQ and pulled down the pot.

Villians in hand 2 made straights on the river, and MHIG.

Moral of the story, don't let beats like hand 1 (my first hand of last night's session) make you play flush draws weakly later on.

In the second one we aren't rasing the flop because we are trying to trap people?

Raising here doesn't seem that bad.

The reason I didn't raise was because I didn't want to scare people off of the hand. If SB had checked to me, I would have bet, but I felt that I wouldn't get enough callers from a raise to make it optimal. Once it got more action from later positions, I put on the accelerator.
