he was responding to the turn raise suggestion. you don't need a free showdown here b/c you don't need to show this down unimproved.

there aren't really two schools of thought.. other than perhaps good postflop play and poor postflop play. T7s is enough hand to play here (with non aggro blinds) if you can play it right postflop.

I belive Trix is just saying there is little value in a turn raise because if you did not improve you had about no chance to win the hand. A big reason to raise the turn with position (especially against passive opponents) is often so you can check behind on the river unimproved and see a showdown for the same cost of call/call but then times when you do improve collect more bets on the river. That line doesn't really apply here. I believe that was the point anyway.

I think you have a value raise here. In addition to your 9 flush outs, you have 5 outs to two pair or trips. 14 outs gives you about 30% equity, and you have 3 opponents.

It may or may not be right, but I never play T7s unless it's basically a family pot myself. No real top pair value, and connectivity value is minimal, so your counting more on the flush than anything.

yes, a raise may barely be for value (accounting for 3-bets, folds, discounted outs, etc) when the action is over...

however, your outs are fairly well hidden and you would expect BB to often bet the river when you do catch one of them. this should let you regain the minimal (and debateable) +EV that you pass on the turn. in the end, you save money when you miss, and push harder for more EV when you hit. in theory

Of course, the BB may bet the river anyway, which means that you would've unnecessarily passed up a slightly +EV situation on the turn. I don't think this can be debated any further without accurately knowing the tendancies of the BB.

I'd fold this preflop, but with so many callers it's probably marginal.

Raise the turn. Otherwise goot.

sure he could stop-n-go.. but much more often (when he puts more $$ in) he'll just 3-bet the turn and kill your turn value play.
