Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
This is how the world works...I don't really see the problem. You must fall into the hate-to-tip category of people and you think all these sorts of problems are caused by the tipping people. We yes I like MY BUTTER ON THE BOTTOM OF MY TOAST!!!

Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
It's like the poker version of one of those Disneyland Passport thingies that let you skip the lines for an extra few bucks.
I hate that too, but I think it's better than the poker version. At least at Disney World, everyone knows you can cut in line if you pay a little more. I just think it sends a terrible message to new players in a poker room, many of whom are probably already nervous about things being on the level, when they see the floor people giving preferential treatment to others. |

Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
I waited nearly two years for a $30/60 stud/8 seat. It was worth the wait, though. While I waited, I squandered my time playing hold'em, stud, and Omaha/8, with the occasional drinking binge thrown in.

Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
I live about 45 minutes away from where I go, and they let you call ahead to get put on the list. They make a notation next to your name, so they won't call your name until you tell them you're there. If they haven't passed you, you're already 45 minutes ahead. If they have, you're first on the list!

Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
Tip is actually an acronym. It stands for To Insure Promptness. The TIP was customarily paid BEFORE a meal to the server in olde english pubs several centuries ago. It got you seating and service promptly.
Seems this use would be exactly used as the custom was designed for. Not intended to reward people after-the-fact for performing their job adequately - as it is used today. As an FYI, the only time I tried to TIP my way ahead of the wait-list, I was politely refused - against the particular casino policy. I was shocked, and waited two hours. |

Re: whats the longest you ever waited for a seat?
I have waited two hours for a seat at a 4/8 table at the Bellagio. Not a particular table... just any 4/8 game. The list was about 75 names long.

You can also make a lot of money from a guy in Nigeria too.
First, ensure is the proper word. Since the word isn't TEPS, that is one sign this is wrong. Secondly, Insuring something would happen before hand. See for yourself, lemmings of the internet: Snopes.com |
