Just to make it easy, I will put the important parts in Italics. [ QUOTE ] The idea of waiting till the turn to raise for either purposes of knocking out players ( HEFAP,7CSFAP etc) or getting more money ( MLHE, etc ) is not new and is also not specific to SSH. No doubt about it. This is a completely new idea coming from Lee Jones. I read WLLHE many, many times and his philosophy is to raise, raise , raise the flop with TP or better. Actually, one could almost summarize that book with the words, "play your good hands fast on the flop, always." It seems very likey that SSH is the cause of Jones' new perspective. [/ QUOTE ] Articles are written months in advance...so perhaps and perhaps not. Anyway, Lee would surely admit that LL Hold em is not a world contained within his book and that there are other ways to play. ---Leavenfish |

Re: SSH ideas appearing in Lee Jones\' latest Card Player article!
I love SSH as much as the next guy, but this isn't new too SSH. This was new to Super/System perhaps. :P
There is actually fairly little _new_ content in SSH, the revolution is in synthesizing all the appropriate parts and leave out the wrong parts. Most of the concepts have been in print before, but all too often surrounded by chaff or outright falsehoods. |
