Re: Spider trapped in jar
What's next....pulling wings of off flies?
For cripes sake, slip a piece of cardboard under the jar and put the spider outside, where he can do some good eating mosquito's..... |

I think you are getting confused with bats. Spiders dont eat mosquitos... Pesky bugs, yes, but not mosquitos. fsuplayer |

Re: Spider trapped in jar
The most important thing you want to do is avoid a strong breeze so your skirt doesn't billow up as you run in fear from the spider.

Re: Spider trapped in jar
The larger spiders running around are often wolf spiders. These little terrors are actually very nice to have around since they eat other spiders. You really should put him outside and let him rid your home and garden of the other pests out there.

Re: Spider trapped in jar
I used to have a real spider phobia. Eventually I accepted that this was an irrational belief, and set out to correct it. I learned what I could about spiders, the different kinds, what they feasted on, if they were likely to bite, and how many were poisonous.
Knowledge helped me overcome my fears, so now I live in peace with my creepy little squash-worthy monsters. |

[ QUOTE ]
I get. I wanted to send a message to all the other spiders in the house. [/ QUOTE ] Reminds me of a Phil Hartman SNL sketch... something to do with household pests... cockroaches maybe. "Of course, none of this will actually kill the cockroach, but it'll sure teach it a lesson." Bob |

Re: Spider trapped in jar
It's very unlikely harmful to humans. Just use you hand to cover the jar and release it outside as spiders consume all sorts micro-pests to humans as mites, mosquitos, etc.
