The fact is, people think poker is just like dice or horses

Horses= +EV

Craps= -EV

Do you see why?

I am sick of posters using the Socratic Method. If you have a friggin' point, make it.

No. From the goddamn information you gave, I don't see why. Do YOU see why?

Horses CAN be +EV, but that is a rare occasion. Do you see why?

Yes, you are wagering against the public (Do you see why?) but the house rake is VERY LARGE. (Do you know this? Or, Can you see why this is so?)

Your handicapping skills have to be top notch to make horse betting +EV. Do you see why?

Reading your post has put me in a foul mood. DO YOU SEE WHY?

Bullsh!t. Craps can be plenty +EV. You just gotta have your own table.

Im still in college, and dont really have a job during the year, so I save up whatever money I can scrounge up to get a bankroll together... my parents wouldnt really care if I gambled with my own money or if I wasnt in school, but me "gambling" with the living expenses they afford to me, and gambling instead of focusing 110% on schoolwork would make them nuts if they knew.

this is why poker is where it is at, and horses would be the DEAD sport of kings if not for racinos.

the percentage of talented people that can make a living handicapping the ponies is dwarfed by the amount of people that can be winning poker players if they apply themselves.

and BTW, i get moist when you are mad. carry on

My parents are pretty lax about my playing poker; they just fear that poker might affect my schoolwork, especially if I start playing mid-limit games.

My mother told me to always raise if I flop a nut flush draw and don't even think about slowing down unless the board pairs and I get raised back. But then she has always been a little bit of a maniac.
