pattern mappers are almost necessary to make money at online poker. if you don't have one you better hope that either your opponent doesn't have one (good luck though, almost everyone does) or that they are using an out of date pattern mapper.

do you ever wonder why you go all-in with AA and sometimes someone calls you with J6 offsuit and then hits a full house and you lose? It's because they have a pattern mapper and know they will win.

Also sometimes people with pattern mapper's get AA and they fold!!! This is because they know the guy with KQ will call, and that guy will end up getting 2 pair.

If you don't have a pattern mapper yet you have 2 options:
1) Stop playing online poker immediately!
2) Get a pattern mapper

That's about the tenth time I've read through that entire thread and I still enjoy it.

Significant insights from the thread:

b) Yes, monkeys are cool. I am considering getting one as a pet/personal assistant. One cool idea my friends and I came up with was that for Halloween I could dress up as a pirate and then have my pet monkey dress up as a parrot and hang out on my shoulder. How cool would that be?

Here is a transcript of my conversation w/Party support about pattern maps:

Indira: Thank you for holding. Indira has joined this chat session.
jek187:Hi, I've been hearing quite a bit about players using "pattern maps" on Party Poker.
jek187:Can I buy one?
Indira:Hi
Indira:Can you please give me more details about the situation?
jek187:Players on the 2+2 and RGP forums have a pattern map which can predict the turn and river cards with 85% accuracy
jek187:They are offering to sell them for over 6 figure amounts, or a really good essay.

and finally:

If you are planning to purchase the algorithm, you should probably do so through a university biology department (or if you are a marine biologist, you could probably get it without much trouble).

Wouldn't it be funny if there actually WAS some sort of pattern map that took some ridiculous equation like Ulysses' to figure out? How ironic would that be?
