1. Call, getting 13 to 1 on your call with any two random cards.
2. Fold. Calling two bets with Jack high doesn't seem right. 3. Raise. |

A) Who is the pre-flop raiser and what are his raising standards? Against unknown players I'd call (half a bet with good pot odds) and hope the flop hit me pretty hard. Depending on how the other players play post-flop, I'd CR or bet out with top pair (especially 8's).
B) You'd like to see the flop more cheaply than this, but with everybody in it's a close decision. C) Raise. He's loose, and you've got position. If a flop raise (or bet) will buy a free card (or cause an unimproved A to fold(!!)), you'll see the hand cheaply with a good chance of winning. |

Q1: early raise 6 callers including the button and SB, you have Q8o on the BB. Call or Fold? Q2: early raise, everyone calls, you have J10o on the button. Call or Fold? Q3. Very loose player ( but throws away the worst hands preflop) limps in early position, everyone folds to you on the button, you have KQo. Call or Raise? [/ QUOTE ] 1: fold 2: fold. Since when does JTo play good multiway? I wouldn't play this if it was a very loose raiser raising, why would i play it with a tighter raiser. If i was in the BB i could see a call. 3: raise b |

All three hands came up in private discussions this week.
My choices. 1. Q8o Fold but it is close 2. J10o I was in the fold camp when I first was discussing this with a friend but the connectedness may justify a call even though the hand is offsuit. 3. Clear Raise - My friend was crazy to argue. But seriously the only debate i is that with some weaker hands you don't have to raise if a) you already have the button, b) it is not possible to steal the blinds. So with say KJo and the limper is not so bad then just calling is better. The 15-30 structure makes it more important to raise because the small blind will play total trash. |

Since when does JTo play good multiway? [/ QUOTE ] I always thought it did. Can you explain why you think it doesn't bernie? I was under the impression connectors were good multi-way, but I may be too loose. |

Q1: Dump that trash. Your're hand's completely covered by the other six hands. Two queens on the flop may not even be good. About the best you're hoping for is a flop with two eights and that's approximately 9800/1 (is that right?) Anyhow, it's a trash hand.
Q2: This one's a little closer. Suited I would say definitely. J10os because you have seven callers with the blinds still to act, I'd be inclined to call particularly if I was sure one of the blinds wasn't going to raise and then get a re-raise from the original raiser. If I called and then it was capped it would be a tough call whether to dump it (even with two bets in), or throw another two bets in. Q3: Easy raise IMO. You have good cards and position. Even if you miss the flop you may still have the best hand, and if he's loose passive he's not going to extract the most from you when you're behind. A raise may also make him fold if an A flops even if he is LPA. |

1. Despite the attractive odds, I fold.
2. It's close between calling and folding...could go either way I think. 3. Clear raise. |

1. Fold
2. Fold 3. Raise None of these are very close to me at all but perhaps I think less of my postflop skills than others in this thread. Maybe I'm way off but I'm shocked at how many are calling with JTo in that spot. Luke |
