Re: Hmmmm, 43o

[ QUOTE ] If it's a possible bluff why don't you just call then? [/ QUOTE ] That's the question I asked isn't it? I think my thought process was pretty clearly stated and included that option. You've made it clear that you would not play the hand aggresively. If I think its a bluff, then why not reraise? [/ QUOTE ] Because a reraise has no positive expectation. If he was bluffing he folds, if he wasn't he calls or raises. So what do you gain? Nothing. Call the bet if you think its a bluff but raising does nothing for you. |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
way ahead/way behind:
check/call check/call bet/call - you bet here to insure that you get that bet in on those times you are way ahead |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
I think I am just calling this one, but these hands kick my butt.
I thought you were coming in for an extra bet on the PF hence my edit. I should read before sticking my keyboard in my mouth. |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
I think it's close between calling and folding.
Raising w/o a strong read here is very bad. |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
I see what you're saying re:+ev on the reraise, but if he is bluffing and folds, I don't have to show my hand. I'm not sure I want to be showing agressive play with the 43o this early in the game.
It would cost an extra bet if he isn't bluffing and reraises, but I'd still muck and not expose my cards. Can table image be worth the extra bet? |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
Maybe it's just me, but I'm check/calling on the flop.

re: table image vs bb: not at 1/2.
besides, people seeing you play bad hands can only be a good thing. check/calling the flop is not a good line. bet out or check/fold imo. |

[/ QUOTE ] No offense, but you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and justify raising this river. You weren't making much sense before but it was understandable. What you're saying here is complete bollocks. There is no reason to raise this river. I see two types of posters on these boards. Those that admit and learn from their mistakes, and all the other ones. Which one do you want to be? |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
I'd check/fold the flop.
Turn bet is fine. I think I am folding this river |

Re: Hmmmm, 43o
Geez adsman, it's for discussion, not to be criticized for having a thought about possible plays. I didn't say I reraised the river, just considered it.
I don't think considering a reraise is bollocks, but it does indicate the possibility of having some. I also didn't realize there were only two types of people here. Thanks for pointing that out. Results: I mucked to his river bet. I figured I could only beat a bluff. Almost any pocket pair beats me and with 2nd to last pair on the board I could be behind most anything, especially Ax where he hit his kicker. My play was to knock them out but it failed. Planning to check behind his check to avoid a trap on the river, I wasn't about to invest another BB or two on this hand with such a small pot. |
