I sell the Panasonic TH42PWD7UY with 4000:1 Contrast Ratio for less than that. I don't think it's that great of a deal. Go to cnet.com and you will find much better deals there.

Because plasma sucks. [/ QUOTE ] An LCD is much better yet they are still pretty expensive for a large one but the picture quality blows plasmas out of the water and you don't have to worry about burn in. |

Because it's plasma and not LCD.
Plasma has a limited life, LCD doesn't (or at least not like plasma) Get an LCD. It looks awsome. I like the picture. The lattest generation of plasma will hold for 3-4 years. LCD is better because of the resolution. And the new plasma also has the anti-burn in. You could burn an image in your TV if you paused your movie for too long. Or logos from certain channels that do not move got burned into the screen. But all the new models have something to prvent this. I bought a LCD because I wanted to hook up my pc on the TV. The pixels were too big on plasma and the res was too low. Plasma is also more expensive if you want to hang it on your wall. It's heavier. Anyway, the TV looks really sweet. Mine is so small... I wished I bought a bigger one. |

The obvious reason you can't buy it is becuase I want one.
I looked at this today as well, and though about it, but decided not to bite. Search the rest of gotapex (do a search for televisions on the left sidebar). Get a larger DLP TV for the same price or at least a brand you may recognize in Plasma for approx. the same price. I'm also looking at TVs in that range, if you find anything that looks really good, please let me know . Al |

Thanks everyone for their replies. I will not be getting this TV. The combination of Plasma TVs still having some questions surrounding them and the stuff that I had previously heard about Tigerdirect (in addition to today) is making me hold off on this deal. I am not in a huge hurry to buy a TV, so if I can wait a few months and pick up a much better TV for the same price or close to it, that will be great. In the meantime, I will head to BestBuy and try to narrow my choices down from big-ass TV to big-ass TV with these specs.
