Default Re: River check-raise time?

I bet here everytime. I think this is a bad spot for a river cr.

KK/QQ with spade will payoff the river but not bet.

Even if you land the checkraise you will often not be paid.

If Villain has AA or JJ the checkraise will lose extra.

I bet the river.

Default RESULTS for \"River checkraise time?\"

You guys are going to kick my ass when I tell you the results . . . I led the river, he raised, I 3-bet, putting him on a value-raising AJ, and he called with his AK, no spade.

Regardless of the fact that leading out turned out to be clearly superior results-wise -- hell, I got to 3-bet -- when I was looking back at the hand I was wondering how often I actually pull this off, and whether a river checkraise might have been better.

I agree that KK and QQ with spades clearly pay off but don't bet . . . but I can't imagine any reasonable TAG not betting the river here with his AK, and not paying off the river checkraise with TPTK -- just in case it's a frustrated flush draw getting stupid. On the other hand, AK usually just calls the river bet.

So I'm still torn, but given the consensus here . . . guess betting out wins!
