Why is this a bet???

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, peeling the turn will be close to correct if he checks the flop, so he might as well bet. If he folds out KT or the like he adds a pretty decent chunk of equity to his hand. (Around 8% just for cleaing up the ten).

i think you shoulda bet the river.

I agree with betting the river. I also think given that he did bet, a river cr should be considered. (I know you said he wouldn't call it)

The only street I'm not sure of is the river. If he is the type to bet a lot of hands that he will not call with (as well as those he would call with) then I guess checking is good.

This sort of player in this room will fold hands that Joe beats when raised--if anything he'll fold too much.

Hi Schizo,

If he were in position and someone else bet, he should raise it so he doesn't have to call a turn bet or even face a tough decision over whether or not to call a turn bet. That's clear.

Out of position, it is very important to get to the turn because even if betting is -EV, check-folding is even worse -EV. If that were all there was, check-calling is indicated so long as noone raises. Betting may clear up overcard outs and may just win the pot since it looks possible noone has hit the flop.

Thanks for the response. Can you do this at PP 3/6??? What kind of PT stats do you need before you can make this play. Obviously this is not something you want to pull when there are 2 fishes on the flop.
