Re: NBA: Greatest ever at each position
[ QUOTE ]
BTW, some "experts" do say he WAS--not could have been--the best ever. [/ QUOTE ] I don't want to get hit in the crossfire of the pissing match, but I'm really curious about who has been quoted as saying that Sabonis was the best player ever. His mom does not count as an expert. |

[ QUOTE ]
Bill Walton and Hubie Brown to name a couple have both said over and over that Sabonis could have been the greatest player ever. [/ QUOTE ] they said the same thing about Stanley Roberts. Your point? |

Re: NBA: Greatest ever at each position
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Talking about his Portland days would be like downgrading Hakeem for his stint in Toronto. [/ QUOTE ] Wrong. And nobody forgets this season I can remember almost every game, seriously. Pippen was non-existent in the clutch most of the time--that is when great players thrive. [/ QUOTE ] Wrong. It's kinda tough to win 55 games with the previous mentioned sub-par supporting cast if the best player on the team is "Non-existent in the clutch most of the time". Other than the Game 3 Kukoc incident vs. the Knicks (which seriously tarnished his legacy), name one clutch time where he was non-existent when it mattered. Certainly not Game 4, 5, or 6 of that series. |
