id be willing to bet that if the poster and Kasparov were to play chess constantly for the rest of their lives, Gary would win every game conclusivly.

if I were to play Gary Kasparov straight up 1000 times in a row, he would win 1000/1000 times.

[/ QUOTE ]

Can this really be true? I have never played competitive chess but 1000 straight is very hard for me to believe.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not only would Kasparov win all 1,000 games, he could do it playing blindfolded.

I'm not exagerating.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why Kasparov?
Try Fritz 8.0 (they are close in strength)on a 4GHZ instead, and come back here after 1000 games and report the result.

I have no idea the strength of the player who made that claim, but no way he should not score any points. There are lines they can play into that are forced draws, and the computer will have no choice.

The key is to play several instances of Fritz simultaneously. You could get them to play each other, but you can also slow the computer down enough so they run out of time.

The Shaq comparison isn't a good one. Shaq would occasionally miss his dunks or get bored and try a fancier shot and the lay person would occasionally go on a run shooting 3's. Over a 1000 pick up games to 15 a joe blow would win one based purely on luck.

what the hell are you talking about?

i have no idea why people feel the need to not only enter a discussion, but actually dissagree with someone, when its obvious they have no clue about the subject at hand.
