Re: O8 hand for review
The first mistake, in my opinon, is not to raise the flop. You have the nut low draw, and aside from a2, a3, or 23 turn/river, uncounterfeitable. So 16 cards bring you low nuts, 16/45 + 16/44, or 1:1.41. 2 callers or more you profit. You got reraised, and one guy called 2 bets. They'll both call one or two more.
The turn is more tricky. You haven't hit low nuts yet, so you are left with 16/44, 36%, 1:2.75. However, you also have a full house draw, 10/44, or 23%. It isn't the nut, so I'd discount that percentage a bit. You have genuine scoop possiblities. Mathematically, the bet isn't there. You are somewhere between 40% and 45% to hit something. However, you might force a fold, so maybe. Had you bet the flop, a bet here would carry more weight, especially if continued to the river, and be likely to get a lower high hands to fold. Moreover, you would have gained some additional insight into their hands with this additional action. It also sounds like you were in superior position to both of these players, with a reraise preflop after your bet. I would have considered reraising that as well, but that's just me. Not too many hands better than A2 suited, 23. -GO |
