Re: JJ, tough flop decision
i think you should bet the flop, hope for a raise behind to narrow the field.
i'd call the way you played it. |

Re: JJ, tough flop decision
Should I really call after a bet, raise, and coldcall on the flop? Only thing I see are flush draw or 99 or something.

Re: JJ, tough flop decision
probably. once its down to you, UTG+2, and someone willing to draw, i think you can stop trying to fold people and just get to the showdown cheap (and closing the action).

Re: JJ, tough flop decision
Out of curiosity, why aren't you capping this preflop?
I would definately bet this flop. If UTG+2 and then CO raise and reraise me, then I would call the raise and see what the Turn brings. |

This is an example when you have have a small edge against something like AK,AQ or else way behind to QQ-AA. The turn card could drastically change your position both ways. This hand is very similar to the TT hand talked about in the "Two overpair hands" chapter in SSH. Basically, the turn card is very likely to drastically change your pot equity, so it is better to wait till then to push an edge, or fold. |
