Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
I am 2nd low stack on the bubble here. Would you have made this play? The raiser has been getting all of his cards, all night long. This is a qualifier to the 200+15 NLHE tourney tomorrow. I'll publish the results in a few.

Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
It depends on how low the other stack is. If I was going to fold, I would have just folded. I definately wouldn't limp in and fold to a raise. Limping is an OK strategy, but you need to call when you are raised. When you limp, you are risking getting outflopped by the BB or anyone else who calls you.
If you don't want to take too much risk, just open raise allin and you will probably pick up the blinds. If someone wants to play with you, OK. |

If you're going to fold, why bother limping?

Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
This was such an easy spot to double up. If you are on the bubble, or second to it, you can't wait for someone else to get knocked out. Everyone is waiting for YOU to get knocked out to proceed to playing. Everyone tightens up severely come bubble time. So you were so scared that he was going to "catch his cards" like he has "all night", so you fold KK?

for the life of me I cant see why you would fold here. if you were going to fold is raised why call? i would call the raise here every time and if I lose so be it. do you really think he would try to force you out of the pot with AA?

Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
judging by your situation (lowest on this table) -
I would absolutely not fold and call the all in - you need money to make the top 9 - and as the lowest stack, no one will gamble unless you're in - and the reason you're asking about this is because apparently, you didn't get a seat, correct? - otherwise you'd have thought it was the right move...well, it wasn't. Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
Either push or sit out and hope a couple of others bust.
Obviously, you're not willing to play any hand with a seat so close, so don't put up 1500. If I were you, I'd push with the kings, and either double up or grab ~T2700. Then, with 11K or 17K, you can fold with confidence into a seat. You need these chips. |

Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
I really never like folding KK unless you have an unbelievable read on someone and everything is on the line. KK is such a dominating hand he could just as easy had AK or maybe even KQs or an underpair.

Silly fold. You have to push here. If you are just playing to squeek in, stop playing tourneys. If you want to win, push.

Re: Bubble situation with the 2nd best hand in Hold\'em
furthermore...had you pushed all in, it's extremely unlikely you would even have required a showdown....
wrong to not be all in preflop, and at this stage, wrong not to call the all in raise - if he has A8 and hits an A, it's your fault because he's trying a steal on you and wouldn't have done so had you been all in first... be aggressive....find teh cajones, son RB |
