When you hit a flush or a straight you take down monster pots. When your AA makes trips everyone is scared because they have no A, when you don't hit trips you are often beaten by the river if you have 5+ seeing it. Sure AA and other large pocket pairs are great if you can reduce the field a bit and get people to raise when they hit TPTK on the flop. In regular games premiums are so much better but in super fishy calling station games I'd rather have multiway hands, much less frustration. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, QJs would be a good hand to have against lots of fishy calling stations, but AA is so much better. You DO NOT need to reduce the field to make AA the most profitable starting hand. |
