I bet there are 2,500 at AP. That site needs some serious help.

Yeah I agree that the increase is probably not jackpot related (at least not very much). It's probably 90% related to the WSOP coverage somehow.

I first started playing in Feb 2003. Didn't know if a flush beat a full-house. I was only on P-Stars.

As I recall, a decent night for them would be around 1200 to 1500. They broke 2,000 on some of their weekends and I thought that was really cool.

AP with 2500 isn't THAT bad. They're growing and taking to steps to continue to grow and that's what's important.
I would play there more if their software didn't slow down my freaking computer more often than not.

I think the reason the hats and what not work for party and not for say, Full Tilt, has a huge amount to do with the fact that Party was biggest fastest. Some newbies refer to playing online as playing on Party Poker, so their brand name has almost surpassed the market. Stars is second in this aspect due to the WSOP champions. But it is in a sense it is like "Kleenex" people refer to tissues as Kleenex because the brand name has transcended the market, anyhoo... just a ramble, basically got in when the getting is good and now they world domination is possible. Of these two sites, only Party can have returning players. If you had an account on Party last year and lost a couple bucks, and the WSOP puts the poker bug back in you, do you go back to Party or join some new site?

I've seen Party's ads as recently as about 2 weeks ago in NY. Don't recall what channel it was. The ad was for Party.COM. I'm 100% positive about it being .COM and not .net.

I've seen this as well (for .COM), it was an older one with Mike Sexyton. I believe it was on CNBC during power lunch (or CNNfn during the money gang, I can't remember for sure).
