bad AQ hand- help please?
A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in SB, 5 callers, Button raises, Hero calls, (big pot, AQo loses it's edge, right?), BB calls, UTG+1 reraises, only one caller, Button caps, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.
Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Button calls, Hero calls. Turn: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Button calls, Hero calls. River: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks, UTg+1 checks, Button bets, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. The pot got so big, it seemed I couldn't fold at any street. Should I have? |

Re: bad AQ hand- help please?
It's capped before the flop, and your flop bet is swatted into the 15th row by Ben Wallace.
Check/fold the turn. |

Re: bad AQ hand- help please?
I was planning on check folding the turn, but I got a gutshot. I was getting proper odds to chase the ten.

Re: bad AQ hand- help please?
Yeah, but only 3 of your outs were clean. But if the pot is laying you in excess of 11-1 here, you could argue calling the turn.
It's almost one of those hand in which you wished the turn didn't open up the door a smidgen more -- you're obviously behind and even if you catch you could still lose a lot. |

Re: bad AQ hand- help please?
Why bet the flop against 2 preflop raisers with second pair top kicker? At least one of your opponents will have AA AK KK QQ KQ. All dominate your hand.
I'd limp to the river and hope a Q falls. I wouldn't be calling a raise though. |

[ QUOTE ]
At least one of your opponents will have AA AK KK QQ KQ. [/ QUOTE ] Nope. Not all the time anyway. A flush draw or AJ or another AQ are all VERY possible. And on Party I say there is at least a 3% chance that one of the players is playing A8 or 72o. Obviously some of the time you will be behind here and they really will have AA, KK, AK, whatever...but you DO have outs even in some of these situations. I'm not sure if it's worth calling 2 on the flop here or not. I suspect letting it go is actually the better play.... but you definitely shouldn't assume that your opponents have monsters every time they raise it (I feel like Ed now..Har-Har). |

fold preflop once it's 2 cold back to you capped, that or call and flop the nuts.

Re: bad AQ hand- help please?
Sure there is a small chance that both of them have poor cards but I'm not going to get into a raising war after the flop when I could easily be up against trips.
I'll call a bet because of the large pot but I'm not going to bet at it knowing that I could be drawing to nothing. |
