98s hand in SB, flop top pair
How was my play in this hand? This was the second hand, but the table texture seemed nice and loose and passive based on the hands I watched before posting.

No opinions at all? [/ QUOTE ] A very standard play, in a very standard hand, on a very standard L/P LLHE table. |

I don't know that CR'ing here the UTG+1 player makes much sense. You normally would have CR'ed a late position player who may hold second pair after it was checked to them, and then decided to bet. As it stands now UTG+1 bet - and then got 2 callers. Personally I'm not thinking your hand is going to be good enough to CR here. Sarge [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

Re: 98s hand in SB, flop top pair
Would you have bet right out on the flop, or after checking just calling the UTG+1 bet? I can't see folding here yet.

Re: 98s hand in SB, flop top pair
ck the flop.. go for cr on turn.. utg+1 will bet out on turn since he has the lead now ck raise gives you a good chance to get hu or win when you bet out on river

Personally I like the check- with the intent to CR, but after UTG+1 bets - I think you have to abandon that - and I'd check/call here as well. Now if on the turn, after the 3 hits, if you check, UTG+1 bets, and the others fold - I think your best shot of picking up the pot is a CR. This is assuming that UTG+1 will lay down a better 8. And don't even bother doing that if the other players in the hand called. Sarge[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

At showdown my hand is shown and both players mucked.
UTG had K7s, UTG+1 had 55. |
