TT hand...
I've played a lot of micro-limit hold 'em and have read the no limit forums a bit. Tonight I decided to try some NL, but I feel lost a lot of the time.
I had just sat down and a couple hands in this happened... Was the amount of the preflop raise alright, and then how was the pot bet on the flop? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) MP1 ($22.75) MP2 ($22.23) MP3 ($21.98) CO ($61.84) Hero ($24.25) SB ($102.39) BB ($24.10) UTG ($40.45) UTG+1 ($24.50) Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 raises to $1.75, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $3.5, SB folds, BB calls $3, MP1 calls $1.75. Flop: ($10.75) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $10.25, BB folds, MP1 folds. Final Pot: $21 Main Pot: $10.75, won by Hero. Pot 2: $10.25, returned to Hero. |

Re: TT hand...
I don't see much wrong with the way you played it. You have no hearts and you are killing anyone else's flush draw. Hard to get away from though if someone else puts you all-in on the flop..

Re: TT hand...
Thats fine. I dont re-raise with TT b/c usually you dont flop a set and there will be overcard(s) most of the time, leaving you in a quandary if your flop bet is called. I guess it does put you in a better position to take down the pot on the flop, though. The size of your flop bet does severely punish any draws, but it is gonna put you in a fix if someone happened to flop a flush on you. No real problem with this hand, though.

Re: TT hand...
I wouldn't reraise TT (nor JJ for that matter) preflop unless you know that MP1 will raises light or if you have a high probability of taking it down preflop or on the flop. Play it for set value against a raise. Potting the flop is fine.

[/ QUOTE ] you don't want to get away from it if someone puts you all-in on the flop. you're probably ahead, and if not you still have a lot of outs against a made flush. i agree with others - cold call preflop. if you reraise, reraise more. villain made it 1.75; make it 5.5 or 6. you don't want it to be so small it's an auto-call. |
