Re: blackjack question
How effective is the modified count in a 6 shoe game? I would imagine that in 1 and 2 deck games this would be very effective, but with 6, the risk of error plus cut penetration would trump some of the benefits of the modified count...

Re: blackjack question
It increases your playing strategy effectiveness by 10%. In a 6 deck shoe, playing strategy accounts for about 20% of your profit, so this aspect probably increases my profits by about 2%.
Betting is of extreme importance in a 6 deck shoe, and the betting effiency of this count is damm near 99%. I don't think there is a better 2-level count for betting. I don't know what you mean by increased risk of error. There are no errors for a proficient card counter. I can play literally thousands and thousands of hands without an error. Anything less, and it is time for more practice and drills. I don't play every hand in a shoe, I tend to stand back, watch, and enter the game mid-shoe in a favorable count. If the count goes unfavorable, I leave the table and go find another one to watch. You want to find a table where 1 1/2 decks or less is cut off in a 6 deck shoe. With carefull dealer selection, it is possible to find 5 decks or damm near penetration. |
