totally lost
The flop reminded me of the "two overpair" chapter in Ed's book. So I call, planning to raise on a safe card -- but wait a minute, does the paired board change anything? And is a queen a safe card? And do I bet the river?

Re: totally lost
SB = looks like a busted flush draw.
BB = nothing, underpair, scared queen, or very stupidly played 8. Button = I thought he might have a scared queen or turned flush draw, but who knows. I close my eyes and raise the flop, hoping to buy the button. I would consider checking behind on the turn if the play worked. |

Re: totally lost
This hand is much different than Ed's 'Two Overpair Hands". Notice in that case there were no players left to act behind the Hero. A raise would not have knocked any opponents out.
In this hand you have two opponent behind you. They could easily have two or three overcards to your Tens, so raising and knocking them out will often significantly increase your chances of winning the hand. |

Re: totally lost
absolutely raise the flop here.
as you already observed....any face-card makes you cringe. |
