Most of the casinos that offer poker, offer mtt`s. Binions has some good 70$ buy in ones, the luxor offers a limit 25$ tourny, the golden nugget offers the best ones i feel. In their tournaments they offer 5$ bountys. Every time u knock a person out the dealer shouts bounty and the manager comes over a flips u a 5$ chip.

Default Cardplayer

When you arrive, pick up a complimentary copy of Cardplayer Magazine in the poker room. I have found it easiest to always find one at Mirage but Bellagio has them also, though they run out fairly quickly. There's a section in the back on weekly tourneys that's very good. Starting times, buy in, rebuy, add-ons all listed. In addition to the ones previously mentioned by the other poster Mirage has a nightly tourney, NL on tues/thurs, Sahara and Luxor also have quite a few tourneys. Cardplayer is your best information source.

Regards-

I played the tourneys at the Luxor when I was there in April. You could add-on chips at the beginning for a couple of dollars that went into the dealer tips which was a nice bonus. The blinds go up quickly and the tourney actually switches from a Limit tourney to No Limit after the first hour. The blinds are big enough at that point that it is essentially NL for all but the biggest stacks anyway. They usually had 40-60 players and first was usually around $300. I did not have the opportunity to play in any of the Orleans tourneys and did not attempt any single table qualifiers for the big tourneys at the Mirage and Bellagio which is something I plan to do on my next trip. Good luck!

Default Caution about being an Alternate

So I signed up to play in the MTT at the Luxor one day and the guy tells me that I am the 9th alternate. I don't know what he means by that, but I ask him "does that mean I'll get to play" and he says "yes, definitely". So after I give him my entry fee, etc. and the tourney is starting I find out that the 9th alternate means that I get a chair after the ninth player has been eliminated.

By the time I sit down with my t300, the blinds are already at t75/150 and I'm in the BB. I post 150 and the next hand I post 75 and call all-in. 2 hands and I'm done.
Don't let this happen to you.

They were doing the same thing with satellites for the WSOP main event, the day before it started. I stood in a long ass line, then left without entering when I got to the front and realized that the multi table satellite had started and I'd be sent in to take someone's seat who busted out. The structure's are usually bad enough if you're there for the beginning, forget about walking in later.
