Default Up against the limp reraise

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls, <font color="CC3333">MP2 3-bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero caps</font>, BB calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (12.66 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="CC3333">MP2 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (8.33 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">MP2 bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (10.33 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">MP2 bets</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12.33 BB

Results in white below: <font color="white">
MP2 shows Ts Th (straight, ten high).
Hero shows Js Jh (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: MP2 wins 12.33 BB. </font>

I have played with MP2 before and he's pretty bad. He plays any 2 for a raise (as in 64o). I also had a note that he makes lots of bets that make no sense. BB is decent. Against a better player I might call the 3 bet and fold the flop. There doesn't seem to be any reasonable limp rr hand that I can beat given that flop. But I've seen JTs or 66 so many times here from this type of player that I decided to stay in the hand. On the turn a mid pp has a set and the few hands that I can beat have decent draws. So would you cut your losses and bail or stay in given the read I have? Comments on every street appreciated. The result is not really important.

The results do matter. You made the right read.

I'm undecided about whether or not you should cap preflop and it probably doesn't matter much. The only important thing here is that you shouldn't let yourself come up with a way to not get to showdown with JJ HU against a stupid maniac.

Good cap preflop. The flop decision is very close between calling and raising. I'd be leaning towards calling unless I knew that I could get BB to fold to a raise. After BB is out of the picture, just cross your fingers, let this moron bet whatever he has, and call down.
