Yes because making information publicly available only helps the terrorists^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hcheaters.

As someone who has done a lot of sleight of hand / magic, I think a cheating forum would enlighten the board about the cheaters that are out there.
You can learn how to do a false shuffle, side steal, second deal...etc etc pretty much all over the net. It wont help anybody that really wants to learn, because the information is already there. On the other hand, the "TELLS" of such moves are not so readily availible to the public. |

Hmmm... Why not just start a thread titled "Cheating Tells...?"

Hmmm... Why not just start a thread titled "Cheating Tells...?"
Because there are so many and it would be a huge thread. There are magic forums that go on and on about sleight of hand. Besides, Im sure people would want to post suspicious behaviour and see if they can get confirmation on a cheater. For example...which one of these scenarios is indicative of someone cheating? 1) I hear a weird snapping sound everytime a certain friend of mine deals. 2) The guy split the deck exactly in half and riffle shuffled the deck 8 times. 3) My friend seems to turn the deck upside down just before he deals the cards out after he shuffles. |

I just want revenge on the game that got me. [/ QUOTE ] Nutstraight, I hope you've considered other ways of getting back at them besides resorting to cheating yourself. Maybe catching them in the act, thus exposing their dishonesty to other players in the game? In any case, I hope you know who you're dealing with before going for some kind of revenge.... This would be another good topic to address in a 2+2 Cheating forum: What to do when you think you're being cheated or think you've been cheated in the past. Tell other players? Tell the host/organizer of the game? Quit going to the game and say nothing? Alan |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm gonna say #3, since he may be using this info to deal "bottoms". Even if not, he's getting an edge just by identifying the bottom card. But #1 can be a sign of someone dealing seconds, at least if the sound isn't the same every time, right? The reason I ruled out #2 is because it takes exactly seven cardinal (perfect) shuffles to put the deck back in its original sequence, assuming I'm remembering correctly from my poker-dealing days.... It just occurred to me that a "cheating" forum could also be used to address issues like players switching out or marking cards. These are issues that come up even in casino games with a house dealer. Even at this year's WSOP there was an incident involving a deck with two Kd's, which could have resulted from player switching. Maybe the forum could be called something like "Cheating and other Irregularities". And why not throw in angle-shooting while we're at it? Alan |

Our game employs a system where one person shuffles, a second person cuts (and the deck must be cut), and then the cards are given to a third person for dealing. Doesn't this solve 99% of the cheating dealer problems? Now you just have to worry about collusion, card marking, . . . .

Also, using a cut card and making the dealer put the deck on the table after the hole cards are dealt help in avoiding misdeals and cheating.
