This topic has probably been hashed and re-hashed but I just don't see how I can get away from this hand.
I had just sat down a few hands ago, so didn't have a read on UTG+1. Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (5.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls. Turn: (3.75 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls. River: (5.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls. Final Pot: 7.75 BB In my emergence from rock, have I become too aggressive? Comments/Thoughts? Thanks Shaun |

I would check the river. What hands would he call with that you beat?

Hi,
I agree with Piiop. The river should be checked. I would also consider getting a free card on the turn for the flush draw. Also, if you think your jacks are good, you can check the turn to induce a bluff on the river. If you are beat and bet on the turn, you will lose a BB and perhaps may have to call one on the river as well. If you are beaten and call on the river after checking the turn, you may only have to pay one bet. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not familiar with the Party .5/1 tables, but at the low-limit tables I play, you see people calling bets with trash hands at the river ALL THE TIME, just almost out of curiosity, it seems, or because they play so passively they figure aggression must equal bluffing. |

he's calling you down with a king. Unless he's weak-tight, I'd check behind him on the river.

I think you can definetly check behind on the river. When you bet and are called, how often will you win? Not very often in this spot.

Lay it down on the flop if UTG+1 bets?
