Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
That's why they HAVE limit poker isn't it? To limit losses (Speculation, please don't flame)? So limit betting acts as the brakes? Exactly as Tharpab has just said, in NL there are no limits to the losses? So the fact that limit poker exists would suggest that this betting format IS successful at limiting losses and hence limiting profits?

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
limit is more profitable per hour than nl. its very hard to 200+ an hour at nl, but is pretty doable at limit. two reasons are mistakes can be made up for on later streets easier in nl, and limit is eaiser to multiable.

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
My experience (about 3500 hands of each) has been that no-limit has been FAR FAR more profitable. Maybe I'm just bad at limit. In fact, I know I'm not very good at limit, but on the other side of that coin, I know I'm not that good at no-limit, either.

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
limit is more profitable because more hands / hour, easier multi-tabling while remaining profitable, and high limits. On a per / table basis, NL might be more profitable at the higher stakes (5-10 +)

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
The answer depends entirely on you. You can If NL is your game, then it should be more profitable. But the swings are higher too.

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
I think this is only a manifestation of the games available.
Party goes to 30/60 limit or something like that right? And only up to 200 buyin NL. So hell yes the 30/60 is more profitable. But for a comparable game NL would have to be more profitable. But again, since it seems (espeically in B&M) that NL is usually a low buyin vs much higher stakes at limit, then yes there is more money to be made there. |

Re: NL more profitable per hour than limit?
i shoulda said 200/hour is doable, not very doable. you can 6 table 15/30 and do 200/hour if your good.
its very very hard to do more than 200/hour in nl, as you are pretty much restricted to 1 table at the limtis you will need to play. at the small/medium stakes, its hard to compare limit and no limit |
