Default Golden Nugget Poker Room?

I have heard their poker room is open as of last April. Has anyone here played there since? If so, what were the low-limits for holdem, and what was your impression?

Thanks,

Mike

i was there on saturday

they were running a relatively large buy-in NLHE tournament (i think it was around $300 buy-in if i'm not mistaken) and they were also running 2/4, 4/8 and NL holdem tables.

when i asked the cardroom manager where the hell the stud and omaha tables were at, she looked quite sad and stated that she WISHED she could run something other than hold'em but that's what everyone seems to want to play now.

Mike,

Did you check out Binion's while you were there? We were there last November before they closed. How is Binion's now with the Harrah's management??

Cheers,

Mike

it was very dark and dingy... again they were running some sort of NL HE tournament that took up most of the room (i think it was only $100 buy-in), and about 6-8 tables of hold'em ranging from 3/6, 4/8, 5/10 and i think one 10/20... they had a list for 4/8 omaha that was ready to go but they couldn't find a dealer

we ended up playing just down the street at plaza where they were running 2/4 and 3/6 hold'em (instant seating), 1-4 stud with no ante (ridiculous game) and 2 tables of pan(!)

I'm dissappointed in what is happening to 7C-Stud. I think when the fashion of tournament holdem wears off, we will get back to the traditional cash games. Thanks for the feedback.

binion's poker room is now non-smoking. the entire casino is now weirdly clean, and brighter than before it got closed down. i expect they had one of those "clean up crime scenes" groups come in and clean it while it was closed. or maybe someone who specialized in toxic superfund sites.

the nugget's dealers didn't impress me at all when i was there. binion's dealers were great, however.

Okay, so maybe their card room isn't that great. How about the hotel? Has anyone stayed there, and what did you think?

Cheers,

Mike

I like the Nugget, both as a hotel and I like the poker room as well. The rooms are very nice, and reasonably priced.

Default Seven-card stud?

I keep hearing about this game, is it a poker game? Is it more like holdem or oma-whatchacallit?

They do have 2/4 at the Nugget, and the room is gorgeous. Well-lit, nice layout. Factor in the daily tournaments and I may actually make my next stay there.
