Big Problem Monopoly
The biggest problem with FW is that they have a monopoly on poker for the Boston/CT area and no incentive to improve service.
1)The dealers are the slowest. 2)The floor does little to control obnoxious players of which there are many. They generally seem indifferent - why shouldn't they be - takes over an hour to get on a table on the weekend. |

Re: Dealer Tokes, Foxwoods
Most dealers at Foxwoods are competant, and some are very good. Often times, however, I am appauled at the behavior of certain dealers. Last week, for instance, I was in a 10/20 game with 1 fish, and the DEALER continually made cracks about the fish's play. Of course, the fish left soon after and the game was ruined. This sort of thing happens far more often than it should. Yes, there are many good dealers at Foxwoods, but there are many bad ones too. It would be nice if they didn't pool their tips, so the tip-money would go to the deserving dealers.

Re: Dealer Tokes, Foxwoods
The room would be SOOOOO much better if poker dealers kept their own tips. It isn't even close.

Re: Big Problem Monopoly
MrPoker opined,
[ QUOTE ] IMHO, Foxwood's management is asleep or deceased on this issue [of slow dealers]. [/ QUOTE ] samz stated the real issue: [ QUOTE ] The biggest problem with FW is that they have a monopoly on poker for the Boston/CT area and no incentive to improve service. [/ QUOTE ] Does anyone know if that Harrah's RI project was to include a poker room? Surely it must have, given Foxwoods' 2-hour weekend waits. Sadly i think i heard that the RI project is near dead. I came along too late to play at Mohegan, but it seems reasonable to think they might bring back poker. Anyone have any idea if that's the case? One of my fellow railbirds on the waiting list said something about Foxwoods expanding their poker room. If that's true, that would be wonderful, because obviously with a 15-minute waiting list customer service is more important than a 2-hour waiting list. That said, isn't the real issue here that no matter how popular poker gets, its profit-per-square-meter is greatly depressed by the labor cost, compared to slots? If that's the case, it's not hard to see why poker takes a backseat to their core business, herding gamblers through by the busload to pump in the quarters. They've just opened the Rainmaker Casino; I didn't really pay much attention but it seemed to be entirely slots, which i think gives a good impression of where Foxwoods' priorities lie. But i'm new to this so correct me if i'm wrong. |

Foxwoods: Worst dealers in the world
I have played at Foxwoods, all over AC, all over Vegas, all over LA, Northern California, Washington State, and even the Netherlands. Foxwoods has, on average, by far the worst dealers I have ever seen. No contest.

Re: Dealer Tokes, Foxwoods
Sorry to say, but I have to agree with the majority sentiment here. I played at Foxwoods for the first time last week and was pretty unimpressed with the dealers. More than a few were clearly learning and the overall pace was very slow. I acknowledge, however, that it is a tough job and there is no excuse for ever abusing a dealer. If you don't like how they are doing, go somewhere else.
