Anyone else get the feeling we're listening to some guys named after colors discuss Madonna?

So say you have 4650 chips, he has 1650 chips, and the shortstack has 1400 chips. These numbers are approximately what you said, so I hope they will suffice for our discussion. If he waits for the other guy to blind out, assume that he will never recover and will always get second place money. EV = ~$30. (the tilde is for the miracle case where he recovers).

Now assume he calls you with his 1650 chips and K8. You have any two cards, since you are raising allin every hand. He's a 60% favorite to win, and, assuming it's the shortstack's button, he will end the hand with 3300 chips, shortstack will have 1400 chips, and you will have about 3300. Now assume that because you are evenly stacked, and neither of you can abusively bully the other, I will also assume equal HU skill and give you guys an equal shot at winning the HU match and that the sitting out shortstack will still always get third (assuming he won that first K8 allin). Then his EV is 50*.3 + 30*.3 + 20*.4 = 15 + 9 + 8 = ~$32. The tilde is there because the probability on K8 winning vs. a random hand is not exactly 60, but close enough.

Anyway, by calling with K8 his EV went up by $2, so he made a good call - which you called terrible. That's all I was trying to say in my earlier post in the other thread; that you encreased his EV (and decreased yours) by giving him a good shot to double up by raising every hand with any two cards.

What does the number of posts someone has have to do with anything? We all have to start somewhere right? Had I been posting on here for over a year would that make my comments any more right or wrong? Just trying to convey what a "tool"(that seems to be the word of choice around here) I think he is.

Poboy if you held reading comprehension skills you'd know he couldn't bust me because I had more chips. And that once the player sitting out was eliminated I went back to playing normally.

Was I afraid of playing on the flop? Yes, that is why I did it. As pointed out it had nothing to do with chip sizes, blinds, or money intervals.

Generally the more posts you have, the more removed from reality and the real world you are.

Did you factor in him finishing 3rd 40% of the time? Or just how that effects his EV if he always wins.

I agree with Durron. You didn't get the point. His call with K8 is a good call if you are raising every hand, blind is big and you only have 3x his stack. If you have 5100, he has 1700, sit out has 1200 and sit out is on BB for 400 blind. One win will give him chip lead of T3800 and cripple you to 3400. Now he can put the pressure on you and steal your chips by making the same play. His call greatly increase his chance of winning the game, which is highly +ev compared to the loss by busting 3rd. Even when ev is exactly zero, I will make the same call.

there's no guarantee that he can finish 2nd if he waits out. Sit out may win the final allin and force him to blind out. It happens all the time.
