Default QQ - Razor busts out a hand history for analysis

I'm not completely comfortable with the way I played this hand.

Typical Party game, typical Party players.

I'm not posting my thoughts as they may taint the analysis.

I think I bring out the hammer until I get played back at.

My thinking during this hand...

On the flop and turn I'm playing this hand for a draw... and didn't at all consider that my pair may still be good.

On the river my draws don't get there and am about to fold when I *finally* realize SB could be betting a J, T or draw so I call.

My thinking after this hand...

If I can call the river unimproved than I should have raised the flop.

Results...

SB shows a busted straight draw and MHIG.

In last position I would have raised the flop, then if he was on a small pair or draw he would call and check the turn and then you can decide about the free card issue.

I actually think this is fine. I don't see what a raise accomplishes at any point postflop, as the pot's not really all that big and few free cards if any hurt you, and it's not so likely that you have the best hand.

with the pot not so big and hero not likely having the best hand, shouldn't hero fold?

The pot isn't so big but it isn't so small either.

On the flop Hero is getting 9-1 with a gutshot draw, backdoor flush draw, possible best hand and closing the action (if he chooses).

Hero is NOT folding this hand.

If you plan on seeing the river, I think it's almost mandatory you raise the flop in the hopes of possibly taking a free card on the turn. You're position is just too good to not take advantage.
