You are absolutely correct! I did know before entering, so I really shouldn't complain, but being in that situation and getting smacked in the face with it didn't sit well with me. Another lesson learned.

Most live tourneys have bad blind structures like this.
Even ones that I've played in casinos with managers I find are knowledgable and play online are forced by the casino to finish the games up quickly.... they do this with raising the blinds. You assume this guy knows the impact of blinds and stuff.. Most people don't understand this. In fact this is unfortunately probably good for this tourney. The crap shoot factor keeps repeat winners from happening, and people think being all-in is exciting and high blinds breed lots of all-ins. The bottom line is that you have to completely adjust your game to make up for it, and even with that, your skill will just not be shown in this type of situation. |

I have to agree the tourney structure is horrible, but dont make a seen in front of everyone. It is his tourney, not yours. The only thing I can suggest is bringing in a tourney structure from a casino. Try this out:
