Generally, that's how I feel too. My roommate, who is an EXTREMELY aggressive player, goes on tilt in my opinion, and as a result of that, probably is better off leaving after an early bad beat. He's a good player, but he's also the guy that would verbally ridicule someone at the table were he in my place. He definitely would have said something if the guy got up to leave minutes later. I've never been big on public ridicule. Too easy to make enemies other than the guy you're meaning to attack. Also, it's just impolite. Most people just are there to have a good time.
On a side note, I made a point to get out of my seat and give him a hand shake on his way out. Did wonders for my table image. Got a couple guys to give me some action later that I might not have gotten.
