I call these kinds of bets sometimes, but I'm starting to regard it as indisciplined. I'm completely convinced that it's correct to fold in most circumstances with the QQ on an A-high flop and an all-in bet. I think it's unusual, of course to be up against what you were, but I think you have to give him credit for an ace after he called your pf raise.

i was faced with a tough dilemma a few days ago when i was sitting in EP with pockets Queens in the early going. i raise pf to 60 (blinds 10/20) and get like four or five callers. the flop hits with a King and two diamonds. the guy to my right, who i think was the BB bets into the flop, i fold, and all the other players who called the pf raise also called. end result, some guy in MP ends up winning a juicy pot with an Ace high diamond flush on the river after more betting. with all those callers, i gave somebody credit for a King. i was surprised at the showdown when i did'nt see one.
