From reading your post I get the impression that you think he has AA or KK. If you are check calling because you think this is the case why bet the river.

His opponent cannot have KK and he doesn't want to let QQ check behind.

Given the way you played the hand up through the river, I think it's also interesting to consider what your river play would be if the river card made the board either:

AK466

or

AK462

I would still play it the same way. Obviously pairing the king is nice because it gives Hero the second nuts and removes the possibility of KK. But I don't think it is unreasonable for QQ to cap preflop here and it would suck to get the river checked through.

Very very well played! If your opponent is a reasonable player, he can't have anything that you beat on the river, though a chop looks quite likely.

The only exception is AQ. There's a remote possibility that he thinks you're making a move on the river and will raise with that hand, but I think the probability of that is quite small.

You play good. I'd blow my load on the river, like the average chumpcake.

u played it well imo. Does anyone really think he has QQ here and if he does is he calling a 3 bet? KQ ah probally not. My bet is AK or AA if u rr u can't fold to a cap so I like the call. You won't get called enough by worse hands to make it for value after u account for the times you're 3 bet. Besides online games u can tell if he's really got the nuts based on the speed of his river raises most of the time. Auto raise = ak lucky to chop.

If you're making this play based on read of the player, you need more info. Under 28% preflop? That's 75% of the 15/30 crowd. If he's at something like 27.5%, he's a clown. Did you have an exact number for PFR%?

Throw out the exact PT numbers for the guy, it makes a big difference IMO.

When I said he feared AA or KK that was before the river K. I was curious if what his mindset was during this hand.

I was trying to maximize against an underpair and minimize my losses vs AA or KK. The only hand that playing this way really hurts me against is AQ and possibly KQ. I was going to be the river even before the K came.

Sounds like a good plan to me.
