Default Omaha h/l book advice

Looking for some advice on a good omaha h/l book. Have been playing 3/6 at my local casino for the past 3 months and have been doing very well and would like to mix it up with the 6/12 players. The thing is they only play dealers choice...but it is actually a round of each...omaha h/l and holdem. I have watched this game a couple of times and it seems like it is a pretty juicy game. I have built my bankroll up fairly high but i do not want to get in that game with out some good knowledge of omaha. I have been starting to read the posts in the omaha section but i am wanting a good book to get me started in the right direction. Thanks for any help!

I haven't seen too many Omaha H/L books out.

I'm no expert in Omaha, but I just bought the Omaha H/L by Krieger and Tanner, which looks pretty good if you are just starting out. Of course, I also have Zee's 2+2 book on Seven stud and omaha h/l, but haven't studied that yet. I'm still focusing on Hold 'Em for the time being.

Sklansky has a good section on H/L (seven stud) in Super System, but apparently some of the info is out of date. But I think his key advice still applies.

The key thing I've learned from all of these is: don't play hands that are unlikely to scoop the pot. Don't fall into "the trap" as Sklansky calls it, of playing mediocre cards in a long shot effort to win half of the pot. Tight play is rewarded in these split pot games.

Zee's book is the best there is for Omaha 8/b ... and you even get a free 7-stud hi/lo book thrown in.

Free book? Do you mean there is some good 7 stud hi/lo in there or do you actually get a free book on stud? thanks for the responses

Its 2 books in one, Hi/LO Omaha and Hi/Lo Stud. Completely separate but just happen to be in the same cover.

Just ordered it off amazon. Noticed it was for advanced players but i have found a pretty good site for some of the novice stuff and it wont arrive until aug 9 or 10th so i have some time to brush up on it. Thanks for the suggestion. Also ordered the new low limit book by ed miller and middle limit poker by bob C. Plus i ordered holdem poker just because it was on sale and i have not read it yet....i went straight to hpfap. Thanks again!

I actually purchased Krieger and Tanner's book on Omaha and despite the negative rating by Mason, I thought it was a pretty good book - especially for someone relatively new to Omaha.

In my opinion, Krieger's and Zee's book is all you need for a fairly comprehensive understanding of Omaha Hi/Lo....the game just isn't as complicated as Hold'em.

To be honest if you are in a good loose game, there really isn't much to the game of limit omaha H/L and you can probably sit right down and be a winning player just after reading HLSPFAP and a couple of newbie guides, and maybe playing a few hours of small-stakes online.
It's a lot more difficult against people who know how to play. But really, omaha 8 isn't a game you play against people who know how to play if there is a significant rake.

Buzz is a mutha bleepin genius.

I only play the low limits, and I was disappointed in Ray's book, although the beginners section was good, I had just seen most of the info other places. The actual space devoted Omaha is pretty slim. There is a lot of Q&A.

If you are sure that the level of play gets better as you move up in limits, it will probably be worth it for you.

Try to see if a local library has it before you buy though, $35 is pretty steep.

I wish the was a good small-stakes Omaha book.
