What about 5-10?
I think next time I go I'll give that a shot. I've never played above 2-4 online, so 10-20 might be a bit much right now.

speaking of which, how would you compare the live 2/4 at Potawatomi and line play from .5/1 upwards? i'd love to go play, i'm just trying to get a feel for the game before i show up. thanks.

In my one session at Potawatomi (I also played a bit at HoChunk before they shut down) I would compare 2-4 to a typical .50-1 Party table. Very loose, very passive, with an occassional maniac tossed in.
But if you're used to losing $15-$25 at a .50-1 table during a bad run, that equals $60-$100 at a $2-4, which can be hard to get used to.

I'm planning to go sometime this coming weekend -- sometime between Thursday and Sunday. If I go on Fri/Sat, I'd probably try to get down there by 11 or so, otherwise looking more at the 3-5 PM arrival time.

Any suggestions for a first time casino player? Planning to play 2-4 and take $200. I'm completely unfamiliar with Potawatomi, as well as live LL games (other than what I've read here at 2+2) so any suggestions you have would be great.

Anyone else going this weekend? I'll probably post again closer to the weekend, but if there's going to be any fellow 2+2ers in the house it'd be cool to grab a beer or something.

Let me get this straight!#$ You guys are discussing visiting the large closet, in the rear of a football FIELD size bingo hall, where the waiting lists are huge? Maybe I'm weird. But, just because someone opens a broom closet and calls it a "poker room", doesn't mean it should be supported. Did they get the tables and chips "second hand"?

Not all of us have the time/money to visit poker rooms further away (say Chicago/Minnesota, or Vegas/LA).

From what I've seen, the main difference between 2-4 and 5-10 at Potawatomi is that the 5-10 is a bit more aggressive. Otherwise, the quality of play is almost identical, with the possible exception of the "this is my first time playing poker" crowd...much more prevalent at 2-4.

And the 20/40 tables are getting tougher and tougher. Friday night's game was about the worst that I've seen it. Perhaps, it's because the fish aren't willing to wait 7 1/2 hours for a seat on the table.

I have a 5-10 and 10-20 game in Milwaukee. Fine food and full bar - professionally dealt. And best yet, no waiting for 4 hours to get a seat.

IM me for more information.

I'd play in the back seat of a Volkswagon if the game was good enough.

Seriously.. What's your problem? With a $4 rake, $1/hr. in comps, and an average of +$15k on the 20-40 table at any given time, you gotta a better place to play?
