Default Atlantic City

I have been playing poker for about a year now--seriously for about 2-3 mos and would like to make a trip to atlantic city. I pretty much only play micro limit on Empire .5/1 and 1/2 but have done fairly well, making profit most of the time except when i lose some big pots to wild callers. Anyway, where should i play? Anything I should know since ive never been to a casino before (waiting times etc.) And any other general info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I would suggest doing a search - there are a lot of posts on this - but briefly -

1)Taj - has the largest poker room and (I think) widest game selection and shortest wait time.
The 2-4 is very soft and probably similar to what you have seen online with a lot of people calling and chasing with middle pair or flush draws. Playing good starting hands wont ensure a win but it certainly puts you on the way - te variance can be high in these games.

2)Borgata - have not been there but from the posts sounds like pretty good action and a nice atmosphere - bottled beer etc. - your wait time might be slightly longer.

Not sure what they spread but you can check other posts -
Think they have 3-6 as does Taj?

3)Tropicana - fine room but not as large as Taj.

If you smoke, play at Bally's. The 2/4 there is a limp fest -- most people will see a flop with any two cards that contain a face card, are both suited, or are connected (or close to it). And they'll take their hands too far. It's the loosest, most passive game on the boardwalk, and at the lowest stakes possible.

just a suggestion, wait a little longer than 12 minutes for a response before bumping. damn you must really have itchy balls.

taj has great 2-4 and 3-6 games, pretty short wait, the list can be long but they fire through it. borgata is a very nice room the the waits are redic on the weekends, stay away on fri night and sat afternoon and night. we are talking 2-3 hours. bally's is def juicy at the lower limits, although the dealers are absolutely terrible and the players get out of hand and no one really cares. the tropicana also has some quality 2-4 and 4-8 but the wait can be long there as well.

Borgata is the nicest poker room with
the best waitresses by far.

They spread 2/4, 3/6 and 6/12 all of which are
usually pretty soft. I'd play the highest of these
that your bankroll allows

Long Time Reader - First Time Poster (Yeah for me!)

I made a trip to AC this past weekend and here are my thoughts.

Borgata: The nicest poker room and, subsequently, the longest wait. On Saturday, there was a 100+ name waiting list for the 2/4 and 3/6 games in the early afternoon. If you can get a seat, this is the place the camp for the day. The players are soft and generally friendly, at times giving it a home-game feel. Supposedly Borg offers a call-ahead feature to put your name on the wait list, but I haven't ever tried it.

Trop: Good size room, but with a late 70s feel. Only took me 15 minutes to get a table at the 2/4. The chairs are moderately comfortable, and the players are even softer. They offered 2/4 and 4/8 HE games and a 7.50/15 game that is moderate.

If you get frustrated watching your long-awaited premium hands being cracked, step up a limit or two from the base where they are likely to play more closely compared to what you are used to online.
