Default Limit progression

I am currently two-tabling 0.5/1.0 at empire and have played roughly 3000 hands (=newbie). I would be interested to know how people progressed up through limits. Ultimately it will obviously be a "give it a try" situation for me to see if/when I am ready, yet I am curious how you posters found this experience.

Since I started I am +220BB at the lowest empire limit and I was thinking maybe after 5000 hands I'll try 1/2 to see how things go for a bit.

Finally, are there any recommended bankroll suggestions for the various table limits?

300 big bets at the limit your playing is that standard recommendation for bankroll.

There's a lot of threads on the subject, try searching the forums for "bankroll" and/or "moving".

300BB's for each limit.

if you are killing the $0.50's after 5000 hands then go ahead and move up to 1/2. It was quite an adjustment for me.

When I first moved from .5/1 to 1/2, it seemed tougher. Now I have no idea why I thought so.

In any case, play up to the 300BB backroll and then give it a try. If you hit a bad streak and lose half of it you can always move back down for a while. 300BB is plenty to give you a saftey net.
