Five $2-4 hands in need of help
Please feel free to comment on all the ways I played these great hands incorrectly..
------- Hand 1: Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls. Flop: (8.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, CO folds, BB raises, UTG folds, Hero calls. So I'm check-raised on the flop with two 8's on the board. My read on BB is that he is super-loose and aggressive. I debated folding vs. calling him down, opted for calling him down. Turn: (6.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero calls. River: (8.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 10.25 BB Main Pot: 10.25 BB, between BB and Hero. ------- Hand 2: Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 3 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls. Flop: (8.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls. Turn: (6.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) MP2 bets, Hero calls. So I 3-bet pre-flop, raise the flop, then get bet into on the turn. I thought for a minute about raising, but decide to just call it down. (Noticing a pattern here? ) River: (8.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) MP2 bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 10.25 BB ------- Hand 3: UTG+1 in this hand is the BB from hand #1. By this point in the evening, I was convinced the guy was playing any 2 cards. I saw him call 2-bets pre-flop with J3o. The guy would play anything, and raise a lot of very bad hands. Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 6 folds, UTG+1 caps, Hero calls. Flop: (9.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 3-bets, Hero calls. Okay, I didn't quite believe his pre-flop cap, so I raised him here. But he 3-bet it, so now I think he really has a hand. Again, I call him down. Turn: (7.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 bets, Hero calls. River: (9.75 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 11.75 BB ------- Hand 4: And then this is the very next hand (perhaps I was on tilt?), but a different opponent. Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls, Flop: (8.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button folds, BB folds. Turn: (5.25 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls. I'm not sure if he has a K here, or just on the heart draw.. River: (7.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls. Perhaps I should fold here? Final Pot: 9.25 BB ------- Hand 5: Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, MP2 calls, CO calls. Flop: (7.50 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, CO calls. Turn: (5.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) MP2 bets, CO folds, Hero folds. MP2 was fairly loose, which made me want to call him. But on the other hand, he was very likely to have A3o or something like that, so I folded. Bad fold? Final Pot: 6.25 BB Final Pot: 6.25 BB, won by MP2. Results: -------- Hand 1: Results in white below: BB shows 8c Kh (three of a kind, eights). Hero shows As Ah (two pair, aces and eights). Outcome: BB wins 10.25 BB. Hand 2: Results in white below: MP2 shows Tc Ts (one pair, tens). Hero shows Ah Ad (one pair, aces). Outcome: Hero wins 10.25 BB. Hand 3: Results in white below: UTG+1 shows Ks Ac (one pair, aces). Hero shows Ah Qd (one pair, aces). Re: Five $2-4 hands in need of help
Hand 1: 3 bet the flop. If it's capped, you can call down, but you need a much better read than you have to call down after only one raise. Folding is terrible.
Hand 2: Raise the turn. Not really close. Hand 3: Fine. Hand 4: Fine. Folding the river is OK too, but your read should be good. Hand 5: It's a raise or fold situation. If MP3 is that fishy I'd lean towards folding. |

Re: Five $2-4 hands in need of help
you need to do a lot more raising and a lot less calling. I think you underplayed every one of these hands. you think one flop raise means your opponent has a monster. I don't even need to look at the results, because I'm sure you won the first 2, and you shouldn't have laid down your kings. it becomes LESS likely he has an A when a 2nd one comes out. it's party 2/4. they suck. my best advice to you is to sack up and stop being pushed around by them.
