Re: 2 armed guys rob WPT event
makes no sense...not on the poker in europe site...
not hearing anything else - could it have been an earlier event in the tourney? - no real money on the tables till the top two.. RB |

Got to love these translators
Preceding article: It asks the divorce because of a hen (AFP) Following article: A tourist Dutchwoman wounded by a lion of circus (AFP) |

Re: 2 armed guys rob WPT event - true story..
I can't find a single source documenting this besides that site -
so I went to the horse's mouth...Howard Lededer at Full Tilt Poker was online.. he says it definately happened, but I understand it was a side game, not the WPT event.. apparently, some US guys brought bellaigo chips...and the bandits might have made off with them... he was in the middle of a stud H/L game, and too many observers to clear itup, but this definately happened, if not a WPT final table robbery, it was a side game at the Avation Club De France... Re: 2 armed guys rob WPT event
How funny would this have been if they had actually busted in on the tourney... "The thieves stole $5.4 million in tournament chips - apparently unaware that they have no cash value..."
Obviously it wouldn't have been "funny" to the people with the gun in their face, but except for the final two people, there isn't typically cash on the table in a WPT tournament & I imagine there are a host of armed security guards around when the cash is out. |

Re: that\'s pretty funny
They may have been "well informed", but they don't exactly sound professional: "They stole the vehicle after losing the keys to the motorbike"
